~ Choking on You ~

Sometimes we say things we know we shouldn't,
But still we utter the words forced out by the feeling,
As if they will explode inside if we don't.
For maybe they will disappear,
Lost behind these lips that long to taste your skin,
Forever.

Sometimes we say things we know we don't mean,
At least not the way they sound to others ears.
The words can never explain,
Don't mean enough.
They hold nothing of the feeling that I long to give to you,
Forever.

Sometimes we don't say the things we want to,
For fear those words will mark a point of change beyond all return.
Taking us so far away from where we want,
That things will be changed and different somehow,
Forever.

I knew I shouldn't say the words but felt I had to,
The words that could never explain but best fit the feeling.
I was fearing the distance the words would put between us,
Feared the change.

I said those words and now,
Everything will be different
Forever.

I'm choking on those words
I'm choking on you.
